Canberra Times Fun Run on

We walked and ran for fun AND funds
to support the ongoing work of the ADO.

Team ADO was out in force again at this year’s Canberra Times Fun Run, coming in as the top ‘Charity’ team in both the 5km and 10km events?! Huge thanks to the almost 20 animal advocates who participated in all three distances. It was another really fun day out (despite all that activity)!

Team ADO disappointed at use of petting zoo at
2017 Fun Run
We were very disappointed to see a petting zoo as part of the so-called ‘family entertainment’ at this year's Canberra Times Fun Run.
There are significant animal welfare concerns associated with petting zoos, which confine very young and vulnerable animals in small areas for human‑animal interactions.
The ADO has sent a letter to the organisers of the Fun Run setting out our concerns. You can find our letter here.

We are run entirely by volunteers and receive no government funding. Every cent donated to the ADO goes straight into helping our volunteers advocate for law reform to protect animals.
